Beoga (Irish word for ‘lively’) are a five-piece traditional band based in County Antrim, Ireland. Beoga has been nominated by Irish Music Magazine for the best traditional newcomer’s award. With the addition of one of Ireland’s premier young singers, Niamh Dunne, Beoga are confirming their reputation as one of the most exciting acts to emerge from Ireland in recent years.

The Tannahill Weavers' diverse repertoire reflects the duality of Scotland's musical heritage. The Tannahill Weavers' arrangements blend the beauty of the traditional melodies with the power of modern rhythms. The penetrating sound of the Highland bagpipes is a thread of ancient memory running through it all.


 
 
Monday, September 15th at 7pm
Jez Lowe is one of northern England's finest singer-songwriters. In addition to being featured on seven solo albums and three albums by Lowe's band, the Bad Pennys, Lowe's songs have been featured on albums by a lengthy list of performers including Fairport Convention, the Tannahill Weavers, the Black Family and Gordon Bok.

Findlay Napier is best known for his work with award winning Celtic group Back of the Moon.
Percussion powerhouse Paul Jennings- formerly of Croft No.5 and Old Blind Dogs provides the Bar Room Mountaineers with a solid rhythmic foundation. Gillian Frame, the inaugural winner of the Young Scottish Traditional Musician of the Year Award, shares her vocal and fiddling talents while Douglas Millar’s fluid lines are the ivory icing on a piano cake!

 
Tuesday, September 23rd at 7pm
Cara is rooted in Irish and Scottish traditional music, but with ambitions to create a new and unique sound. Each of the five musicians has made a name for themselves at home and abroad through their involvement in various projects and got together in this line-up to create the music of their dreams.

Cantrip is a quartet Scottish traditional musicians that positively crackles with energy. The name itself, which is an Old Scots word meaning a charm, magic spell or piece of mischief, aptly evokes both the unexpected twists and turns in their musical arrangements and the inherent and compelling potency of their native Scottish traditions.
